Crane pallet lifters for safe overhead pallet and IBC handling

Moving palletised loads by crane requires equipment designed specifically for the task. A purpose-built pallet lifter provides a dedicated way to lift and position palletised materials where forklift access isn’t suitable.
East West Engineering supplies a range of crane pallet lifters and pallet hooks in different configurations and capacities for construction, manufacturing, mining and industrial applications. Helping customers select equipment that matches both the load and the lifting application.

Lifting pallets and IBCs by crane for controlled overhead handling

Using the right crane pallet lifter is essential for safe overhead lifting. The lifter needs to be suitable for the load being handled and the required working load limit. Incorrectly rated or unsuitable lifting equipment can compromise load stability, increase risk and create unnecessary delays during lifting operations.
Pallet lifters are commonly used to lift palletised materials, building products and IBCs where forklifts can’t safely access the load. Unlike a forklift pallet lifter, crane-mounted equipment is specifically designed for suspended lifting, providing a dedicated connection between the crane and palletised load.
East West Engineering pallet lifters are designed and certified in accordance with Australian Standard AS 1418.1 to safely handle palletised goods when being lifted by overhead crane and supplied with supporting documentation to assist with its safe operation.

Pallet lifter configurations for different loads and lifting applications

Different lifting tasks require different pallet lifter configurations. Self-levelling pallet hooks automatically adjust during lifting to help maintain the load in a balanced position. Adjustable pallet hooks balance the load by moving the lifting ring between loaded and unloaded positions or positioning the lifting ring between the six locating positions. The Counterweight pallet hook is designed with a fixed lifting position and counterweight to maintain the correct balance for the intended load during lifting.
East West Engineering’s range includes the CHM200 Adjustable Pallet Hook, PHA2000 Self Levelling Pallet Hook, PHD2200 Adjustable Pallet Hook, PHN1500 Heavy Load Pallet Hook, CHW150 Wide Load Pallet Hook, CBC200 IBC pallet lifter and the CH Coil Hook.
The right configuration depends on the load dimensions and weight. Our team can help identify a suitable pallet lifter for your application.

Working load limits and certification for crane pallet lifters

Every lift should begin with the right equipment. The working load limit (WLL) of a pallet lifter must be suitable for the maximum load weight being lifted. The WLL should be considered alongside the pallet lifter configuration, load characteristics and crane capacity when planning a lift..
East West Engineering crane pallet lifters are supplied with clearly identified WLL information and supporting certification documentation. This provides the information needed to verify the rated capacity of the equipment and support lifting equipment inspection and site requirements.
